Actions are how you tell Align.ly Beacon what is an "attempt", a "connect", or a "successful outcome".

Actions are configured from Tasks and Events that are already getting created by other tools in your tech stack (ie Outreach, SalesLoft, Gong, Chilipiper, Revenue Hero, etc.).

To add an Action, follow these steps:

1. In Salesforce, go to Align.ly Beacon by searching in the App Launcher ("waffle" or "9 dots" icon)
2. Click on the Actions tab
3. Click New
4. Complete the required fields
5. Click Save

Here are the field defintions when configuring an Action:

Action Name

1. Give your Action a Name.
2. It could be something like "Email Attempt" or "Email Connect" or "Call Attempt" or "Demo Scheduled".

Object Name

1. This is where you select the Object for the Action.
2. Options are Task and Event.

Action Type

1. Options are Attempt, Connect, and Successful Outcome.
2. If your Action is for "Email Attempt" or "Call Attempt" you would want to select Attempt.
3. If your Action is for "Email Connect" or "Call Connect" you would want to select Connect.
4. If your Action is for "Discover Call Scheduled" or "Demo Completed" you would want to select Successful Outcome.

Date/Time Field

1. This is a date/time field on the object you selected in Object Name.
2. This is the date/time Align.ly Beacon will use to track when this action was performed.

Field API Name

1. Select a Number field on Campaign Member.
2. Align.ly Beacon will store the "Count of" this Action in this field.
3. For example, if the Action is "Email Attempt", it is recommended that you create a "Count of Email Attempts" field on Campaign Member and then select it here.

WHERE Clause

1. This is where you configure the Action criteria.
2. The WHERE Clause is written from the object you selected in the Object Name field.
3. For example, if you selected Task and your Action is "Email Attempt" you might use Type = 'Email Attempt' as your WHERE Clause.

Reference a formula field in WHERE Clauses

We recommend adding a formula field to Task/Event that has the logic to "categorize" your Tasks and Events. You can then reference this formula field in the WHERE clause.
